HOME OFFICE: NEW POINTS SYSTEM TO BE INTRODUCED FOR MIGRANT WORKERS

A new points system, modelled on one that already exists in Australia, was introduced yesterday by the Home Office. In a "shake up" to current Immigration rules will be a requirement for only the best migrant workers to enter the UK to be allowed to work in Britain. Other changes include new licenses for businesses who want to employ migrants and on-the-spot fines for those not obeying the rules and found hiring illegal workers.
