JACQUI SMITH MEETS JOINT POLICE FORCE AT TRAINING SESSION

The Home Secretary, Jackui Smith, visited QUEST Academy in Oxford and spent time with front line officers from four counties - including Norfolk, Nottinghamshire, Staffordshire and Sussex,, who are all starting a joint training  programme today.

The training course aims to provide the frontline officers with the freedom and the skills to improve operational performance and analyse their work and make improvement in streamline their co-operation.

Speaking from the QUEST Academy in Oxford, Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said:

"I am pleased to be here today and wish the officers attending today's academy the best of luck with their training.

"It's great to see frontline staff being encouraged to solve problems using their personal experiences and to see managers empowered to work creatively with their teams to improve performance and the service to the public."
