Michael Gove who recently has reformed the schools league tables and who is looking to introduce a new baccalaureate system in Britain to that abroad received an angry response to his new proposals during a live radio call in on Victoria Derbyshire's slot on BBC Radio 5 Live.
The caller insisted that children should be able to discover their potential in any field of education including music and art. The Education Minister however kept pressing the caller to outline exactly what subjects he felt should take priority in being taught, explaining that foreign language teaching had dropped by a third as a subject taken up and that spelling and mathematics were lacking in standard.
The caller however, made nonsense of his view explaining that children are already taught these subjects to a high standard and not to interfere with the education system.
